Nuno Marinho
Nuno Marinho is the most prestigious and acknowledged Gypsy Jazz musician in Portugal. An award-winning guitarist and composer of original jazz fusion albums, leader of the Pat Metheny tribute band, and, since 2013, totally devoted to his passion for Gypsy Jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt.
In 2015, he started his career as a promoter of Jazz Manouche in Portugal and the World, performing at concerts, teaching worldwide, and creating and organizing his own Festival Django Portugal.
As a teacher, Nuno is the author of Guitar & Theory Books, and publishes Jazz Articles, Interviews and album reviews. In 2025 he started the 1st-ever Django Portugal Camp, which welcomed students from all continents.
He’s been touring around the world with his music, performing all over Europe, Brazil, the USA, Argentina, Angola, and India.
As a performer, Nuno is playing with all the Gypsy Jazz masters of our time: Tcha Limberger, Paulus Schafer, Robin Nolan, Sébastien Giniaux, Tim Kliphuis, Wawau Adler, and many more.
Gypsy Jazz Workshops
The Gypsy Jazz Workshops are live sessions hosted by Nuno Marinho every Saturday at 3 pm (UTC) on zoom. It’s all about the music and the guitar. In 90 minute sessions, Nuno shares his expertise on guitar practising and playing, song analysis, technique and jazz theory. This is the place to learn all the special ingredients inside the music of some of the greatest Jazz and Gypsy Jazz musicians in history. You’ll hear music differently afterwards. Prepare to learn a lot and work your way to excellence.

Festival Django Portugal
Festival Django Portugal is an initiative of the musician Nuno Marinho to promote Gypsy Jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt. The Festival is held annually in different cities across the country. Throughout the year Django Portugal promotes concerts and events with national and international bands dedicated to European Jazz of the 1930s. Django Portugal also organizes workshops to inspire the country’s young musicians.
Hot Club International
Hot Club International was born in Portugal. Five friends from five different countries met to play Gypsy Jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt. Nuno Marinho (Portugal) leads the quintette with Frank Meester (Netherlands), José Fernando Seifarth (Brazil), Marian Yanchyk (Ukraine) and Mario Pousada (Spain). The band interprets the swing and jazz repertoire, adding some traditional and popular songs from their countries.
